I received my Bachelor’s Degree in Dentistry from Iraq, my home country. I moved to New Zealand more than 11 years ago, and I now have a family here. I studied here and earned my degree in Oral Health Science and Dental Therapy from AUT. I’m now aiming to become a registered dentist in New Zealand. I want to provide children with good oral health care, and I also want to teach them not to be afraid of dental treatments.

I graduated in 2010 from Auckland University of Technology with a Bachelor of Oral Health dual degree in both Dental Hygiene and Dental Therapy. As a previous school dental therapist I have experience working in South Auckland and South Island schools providing preventive dentistry to children. I am passionate about improving and encouraging good oral health within our community. I have a keen interest in the study of gum disease, how it effects the body and the treatment thereof, with an emphasis on gentle care of all our patients oral health with Alpers in order to improve their overall quality of life. Alpers has given me the opportunity to work in different departments, including dental hygiene, orthodontic auxiliary and dental therapy. I love the experiences and teamwork at Alpers Dental and the opportunity to learn new things.

Since 2013, I have been working as an orthodontic assistant, therapist and hygienist in Alpers Dental. My favorite patients are kids because they’re very unpredictable! I received my dental hygiene and therapy degree from AUT. This is my first dental work experience, and I truly enjoy working at Alpers Dental.
