If you have time for dreaming, take it.- E.M.Lewis At our office we perform a number of treatments to improve the appearance of our patients' teeth and smiles. Whether it is a complete smile makeover you want, or simply your teeth whitened we have got it covered.Whitening There are a number of ways we can whiten your smile. The most effective treatment is carried out in-office. The treatment time is around two hours and you leave with an instant smile improvement. The other common treatment is where we make you thin mouth trays which you take away with our whitening kit and place the provided whitening gel in the trays and wear them as per instructed for as little as 15mins a day. This is our most popular cosmetic treatment because it is so easy! Amalgam Filling Replacements Amalgam, the black metal filling, was a very common dental material over the last 100 years but it is seldom used now. In our office we prefer to use composite tooth coloured fillings, or if the fillings are large we recommend tooth coloured porcelain fillings. The porcelain fillings can now be fitted immediately as we have in our office a CEREC unit[see our page on this treatment]. CEREC enables us to turn a photo of your tooth into a 3 dimensional model on our computer screen. Once we have this we can construct a porcelain filling to fit perfectly into your tooth. This treatment is highly successful and means that we very rarely now need to crown badly damaged teeth. They feel and look great! Porcelain or Composite Veneers When teeth are badly broken down or irregular in shape a simple whitening procedure may not achieve the result you are looking for. In these cases it may be better for us to provide veneers to improve your smile. A veneer is like a tooth coloured false fingernail that we can bond onto the outer surface of your tooth. This technique allows us to greatly improve even the most unsightly teeth. Usually we use porcelain rather than composite for veneers as porcelain looks better, is stronger, and lasts longer without discolouring or wearing away. A veneer could make you look and feel 10 years younger! Full Smile Makeover No matter how bad you may think your teeth are, we are able to give you the smile you have dreamed of. In many situations we have needed to combine the different fields of dentistry to create that magic result. A combination of tooth straightening, gum lifts, tooth implants and even surgical procedures along with the cosmetic dental treatment of tooth coloured crowns, bridges, and veneers may be necessary, it really just comes down to you and what you want to achieve.
